I did some research on the holdbacks but I'm not sure if this applies to '05 6MT coupes. Some sources say the holdback is 1% of base MSRP and 2% of base Invoice and normally applies to cars on the lot less than 90 days.

For example:
MSRP $33,800 x 1% = $338
Invoice $31,100 x 2% = $622
Total Holdback = $960

So for a 6MT Coupe with PP/NAV pricing is roughly:
Invoice + PP Invoice + NAV Invoice - Holdback
$31,100 + $2,112 + $1,805 - $960 = $34,057

These calculations might be slightly off since the destination charge was left in while calculating the hold back but would it be possible to get this car for under $35k? Does anyone know if the holdbacks applies to '05 6MT coupes?

Hold back is hold back...Most every dealer has hold back(not all but most) It matters not how long the car is there from what I know ... If a car is on a lot longer then the dealer hopes .... The Manufacturer gives incentives to move the car ... I myself didn't get to crazy with the dealer going over holdback... I just knew it was 1.5 % for Infiniti and that it was about 550.00 more for his pocket over invoice. I let him know I knew what hold back was when I was working my deal... but didn't thro it into my deal full force. It could have very well left them feeling they had some kind of extra playing card to make money... who knows...

All and all... the car has been on the road for a while ... If you go in knowing exactly what you want... and have your own finacing ... its all the better... I would get in before summer or even spring comes around. Remember, kids drive around in the summer... school is out ... so the dealer will be packed in the summer. Even the repair department will be more busy then (people getting the cars ready for summer and doing the repairs they put off because of the cold weather) ... more people in sight in general will leave the dealer feeling they are busy. Now is a great time to buy ... or late in the year...

As for the Best price... I would say 100 to 500 over invoice would be the best you could get ... let the dealer get the hold back... just let them know you are aware of it. if they make 500.00 on that plus 300.00 they make 800.00 profit for what took me 25 minutes in and out the door with my receipt

Thanks man .. lol .. One of the reasons I waited was for the weather to pass .... I can't wait to hit the road .. I never been in a G .. or test drove one for that matter ... My heart races when I see one .. so that alone was enough for me to buy it ... Well .. I did sit in one at the dealer of course .. but never been in one while moving

"destination fee" you are stuck with ... They have to pay it .. so you get stuck there. The other 2 Were tossed. 725.00 savings right there

One possible downside to getting a great price is when "your" car finally comes in and another customer who didn't get a good deal is waiting for a similar car to arrive. Wonder who gets the car-nah dealers wouldn't do something like that would they because they are men of honor.

I hope you are right! My wife ordered her 05 CPE 6MT on January 27th - six weeks ago today. The time frame we were given at that time was 8-12 weeks.

lol .. Well anything is possible .. but that I think is not the case.
I get a vin # before the car even reaches the dealer.
& a contract to back it .. I'm sure they would love to do that .. but they really cant.
