Accelerator pedal sensor replacement
Accelerator pedal sensor replacement
Hey guys. I replaced my sensor connected to the foot pedal and now i have to stomp on the pedal to move. I’ve heard of a relearn but I don’t know if it applies to a 04 G35. Is there a process you know of to do it if I need it? Or do I just send it back.
Probably only need the APP sensor recalibration not the rest, doesn't hurt anything to do the rest though.
Just make sure the car is actually in the correct state when you do the idle air, steps are in the FSM in section EC - Engine Controls under "basic service procedures" at the front of that section.

Man I couldn’t get that SEL to blink. Tried this 20 times. Wind up putting the old sensor back in and boy....it was idling at 3000 and then went to limp mode. I decided to try the process again and my damn foot slipped off the gas pedal on the 5th pump and lo and behold the SEL starts to blink. Finished the process and the car rides normally now. This all started when I installed a Roar pedal. Went to limp mode when I punched it. I’m sending that crap back.
thanks for all your help. I appreciate it.

All those pedal commander mods do is make it so the ECU sees 100% APP without actually depressing the pedal all the way WOT. Personally I hate those things, I'd rather know that my linear pedal actually goes 0-100% when I push the pedal 0-100%. Rather than pushing my pedal 50% and the ECM thinks it's at 75% or whatever mode you have it set to.
Better to save up the extra money and get an Uprev tune to remove the throttle actuator % limit (as well as all the gains from having an actual TUNE).
