B1054 Code from Hell

Hello,

I've had this code pop up recently. I've changed my clock spring, air bag and made damn sure all the connectors I can see are secure. Any ideas why else code b1054 would be going off? I can't figure out where the "open" break in circuit could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you use an oem clockspring or an a/m. I tried the aftermarket route and it wasn't made correctly, a tab was too short to engage(explains the price) changed it to oem and that fixed it.

Throw in a resistor kit like what you use for an aftermarket steering wheel (NRG makes a kit for the G35). If the code goes away with the resistor kit then the clockspring is fine and the issue is probably with the airbag module itself.

EDIT: The resistor kit is about $15.

OEM - the controls on the steering wheel came back to life! but the code still persists.

OEM - The steering wheel controls have come back to life. The airbag light still persists.

Appreciate the bypass, I could probably make that happen but I want the airbag to work since I have a stock steering wheel installed. I'm really just wondering if I'm missing any secret locations or high probability area in a circuit break with code b1054.

Thank you

Nothing that's a chronic issue, I didn't suggest the resistor kit as a permanent "fix", just as a tool to troubleshoot the clock spring without removing it and ringing out both ends.
