Inexpensive low profile ramps for coupe to have access for a service jack
Anyone with a coupe knows the difficulty of getting it up on jackstands, the front sits very low even at stock height and a standard service jack won't fit under the car. Once the front of the car is lifted onto stands then the rear sits too low to get a service jack under the differential...
I had been using some makeshift "ramps" I made from 2x10 lumber for many years, finally got tired of hauling those heavy things out every time I needed to get the car up in the air with a service jack.
Side jacking the car is a mess and I definitely wouldn't recommend it for anything other than changing a flat tire, definitely not for getting the car onto jackstands.
These ultra low profile ramps are very lightweight, sturdy, inexpensive, have a very narrow approach angle, and they fit under the car without hitting anything, I'm on 350Z revised springs so my drop is only 1/2" but I still have almost 1" of clearance remaining for the rear ramps.
Once the car is up on 4 of these ramps you can easily get a full size service jack under the front lift point and when the front is on 6 ton jackstands (they set higher than the usual 3 ton jackstands) you STILL have enough room for a full sized service jack under the rear differential.
Pluss the roll-stops are pretty aggressive so you won't accidentally drive forward off the ramps once you're on top of them. Overall I've been very pleased with these low profile ramps.
