So the coupes in the shop...
So the coupes in the shop...
So now I get a auto G35X to play with.....
so my impressions (going from one side of the g35 spectrum to the other)
- Revs so slow its unbelievable. I watched the tach sit as I floored it and couldnt beleive how long this car takes to rev out in certain gears. (wont say which, dont need to know how fast this loaner has gone).
- Rides MUCH smoother. I actually enjoy how nice the ride is in comparisson to my coupe.
- Handling isn't as bad as I thought it would be. An offramp I take at about 60-70 in my coupe daily was a little hairy at 55 in the sedan.... but no tire chatter what so ever, so I'm pretty impressed.
- The AWD is fun, I've tourqe braked it a few times from a stop... thing hauls out for a breif moment then the slow revving nature takes back over.
- The interior is kind of bland ( I have a black interior, no chrome in this sedan ) and kind of makes your eyes do circles when your used to chrome.
- The back seat is roomy as hell, definatly can get used to that.
- Exhaust note is not quite what I remember my coupes being, but then again, its a completley differnt exhaust system so I cant really compair.
Other than that, the condition the car was in when I took it was laughable. There was a full pack of cigs in the door (my brand, unopened and now mine), a bag of half eaten dunkin deeznuts in the back seat, 2 cigs and a coffee stirrer in the ash tray and (get this) someone ripped up a personal check for just over $400 and threw the pieces under the passenger seat. Oh and I miss my coupes seats, these are doing a number on my back.
So, hopefully today I find out the future of my coupes tranny.... out or in....
Figured Id share my RWD 6speed coupe -> AWD auto sedan experience.

Part of the deal to get a loaner. Sometimes (too often) at Cerritos they run out of loaners and they have to rent me a car. And that's been quite a few times I think that's what will eventually lead me to ditch the Infiniti and get something more reliable.
