Excuse if this has been asked already... Has anyone used their front brembo calipers on the rear of your coupe when adding massive front calipers? Looking to see possibilities of saving some money and reusing a portion of the components I already have. I understand there's no bolt on and this is custom. Just looking for tips or ideas.

 

Much different flange, it would require a custom adapter plate.

However unless this is a heavy autocross / track-only car that's VERY VERY VERY overkill, the Brembos will suffice in 99.99% of all applications except for long track use.

Heck I used my stock non-brembo 2006 calipers for all my AutoX stuff and they were plenty sufficient. If I was going to do something like Nürburgring then I would be looking at a track-specific brake setup because constant 100+mph braking builds up a lot of heat but for everything outside that exact situation there's nothing the stock Brembos (or even the 2005+ non-brembo) can't handle.

Mostly big brakes are just for looks, you definitely could design up a custom bracket and use those front brembos on the rear though, that's how all the aftermarket manufacturers do it and it's not difficult. Just find your center spacing on both axis. Before all these custom brackets became popular that's how we used to do it, fab up a bracket from 3/8 thick steel and shim as needed.

 

I get it, and appreciate the reply. I will say there is a part of this that is cosmetic, especially with my wheel setup and soon too be enhanced body work. However I have found some minor limitations with the nature of the twin turbo setup I'm running. and while I have some money to work with, I would like to utilize it while I can for setting up the car for it's future plans.

I'm no stranger to custom fitting components, but also need to scope out rotors or if the stock size rears will work inside the front calipers.

Also, honestly haven't started measurements yet. Starting as a thought that's going through my head before I decide to dive into it
