Hey all, it’s been a while since I’ve been here. I have an 07 coupe AMT. The rear interior side panel leather is now come unglued from the plastic molding. I tried that spray on adhesive but that doesn’t work. The leather just peels off.
Spray adhesive it back in place then use some of that push-in interior trim strip to go around the edge which will keep it from peeling back in the future.
I had our local auto upholsterer (in business since the 1920s!) work on mine on both my '06 sedanX (RIP) and my current '06 coupe (front and back panels). They have stayed stuck, so there's something that will keep them adhered. They look factory perfect, no wrinkles or ridges.
What spray adhesive did you use? I used one from Permatex that was specifically for auto headliners and it worked fine. You have to spray it on and wait ~5 minutes for it to get tacky before putting the pleather in place. The directions also stated for maximum hold to spray both surfaces.
