Clutch rattle / replacement
Hey so i recently picked up an 07 g35 coupe and was wondering if anyone has done a clutch repair on theirs. if so, how much roughly did that cost? my clutch rattles at idle then goes away when i depress the pedal. to me i think it probably is the throwout bearing, but if i went to go have that fixed, minds well put a new clutch in since it would be the same labor and i wouldn’t need to worry about it. is that a good idea? i really wish i could do the work myself but i just don’t have the tools nessessary. thanks guys !

A clutch and flywheel is going to be around $600 for the parts alone. Throwout is $10-$20 I think. The clutch itself is pretty easy to replace, it helps to have an impact to get the bolts off and a transmission jack, but you don't have to. Labor is going to be $600 on average on top of the parts, so figure $1200-$1400 total. They can also check your rear main seal for leaks and any rear sensors while taking out the throwout.

These cars were known to have the throwout bearing rattle even when brand new. Is it doing it all of the time at idle (with the clutch pedal out), or does it come and go?
