Mine's here!

I've been lurking here for awhile but need someone to share my excitement with. After months of waiting my DG/G 6MT is here! I pick it up tomorrow. Only option is Premium. I waited an extra month due to changing my order (delete aero). XM and clear corners are in the garage waiting to go on. Working on getting some SF-Winnings in the mail. (Anyone want some OEM 19s?).

I want some OEM 19s. Do you want some OEM 18s for a winter set plus cash?

So I drove it home today. I test drove an '04 prior to ordering and I had never driven an '05 before today. Impressions:

- Looks beautiful, inside and out.
- Still working on the stereo setup, but I found it doesn't need nearly the treble others are running
- clutch chatters pretty bad. I suppose that'll clean up with break-in
- 4000rpm max for break-in is a joke. I need to start in 2nd to keep out of the no-go zone. It feels so weak short shifting like this. There's no way I'll make it to 1200 miles under these constraints. Maybe they mean not to cruise above 4000... Every other car I've owned I've driven like I stole from the get-go and I never had any reliability issues. This seems over the top.
- Suspension borders on punishing over anything but very smooth roads. That's ok by me but I suspect some would find it too stiff. I did hit my head on the ceiling going over a speed bump at what I thought was a reasonable speed.
- Sharp and responsive steering, the good side of the newly stiff suspension.
- I'm relatively "narrow" and I find the bolsters a snug fit. I see why some complain about the seat comfort. I personally like them.
- Incredibly noisy tires. And I'm coming from a Contour SVT with S-08s, which are known for their noise. I suppose they'll quiet down after a few miles.
- Must have seen 40 cops today!

When does your clutch chatter, as you push it all the way in or as you let it out? As far as the road noise, it's only going to get worse as you rack up miles on the tires but that's what you get for riding on 19"

Clutch chatters as it engages (letting it out). I only have 50 miles on it though.

Validated this morning what a handful this thing is in snow - not surprisingly. Too late in the season to buy snows and 6-9 inches coming on Friday. Maybe I'll take the day off.
