Bose and CD-R's

Bose emailed me back with this...just a little FYI for anyone else who's frustrated w/ the Bose not playing their CD-R's...

Hello Josh,

The quality of the CD player or changer is key to which home burned
CD's
will play successfully. There are some players, even in new vehicles,
which
will not read home burned CDs, but generally, newer CD players are more
capable than older players at reading these burned CD's. If someone is
having a problem getting their system to operate with a home burned CD;
we
would suggest trying to use a media ("recordable" CD) rated for the
highest
speed possible. Currently, we use a 12X rated CD. Then burn the CD at
a
slower rate, example 4X, and try it in the player. Generally burning
at a
slower speed improves the quality of the CD. You may need to use a
trial and
error method to identify which burning speed is best to use with a
particular player.

Thank you for choosing Bose Corporation.

Re: Bose and CD-R's

my bose plays all burned cd's at no problem... I burned a cd this weekend at 40x on 32x media and it still reads it... i've burned at 24x on 12x media without a problem as well...

Re: Bose and CD-R's

actually, this has nothing to do with Bose. You have to find out who manufactures the CD player. But i'm pretty sure that it will read CDRh no problems. Bose system is just a set of speakers and amps. head unit is made by someone else and is the same on all G35(c or s)

The only problem i've ever had with CDRs was in my 97 Eclipse with Infinity system in it. It only read particular types of CDRs recorded at no more then 4x. All new cars that I have driven/owned had NO PROBLEMS

Re: Bose and CD-R's

Clarion makes the head units for these Bose systems...actually just solved the problem...tried a third kind of CD-R and it works...so I'm all smiles here again
