Re: Just got my coupe :)

happy for ya man...

your dah cool guy now!!
even if you were a wally before.... heheheh joke.

I have had many cars....
I smashed the hell outta most of em.... and it was from careless driving....

lets see... wash car... get showered... lookin sharp ... hop in clean car...go over to buddies... yeah man... nice car !! etc...chill there for a bit .. have a few ...play some video games watch hockey , feed a rat to a snake etc...
normal stuff.
1-2 hours later ...
time to go downtown..
everyone hops in the ride ...
cars gets slowly dirtier and dirtier ..(to be expected from careless friends)

get downtown after hangin out the windows yellin at chicks and other punks who wanna race

get parked ...
car looks still pretty damn HOTT

go to da clubbb
PAHTEEYY like no tomorrow
leave...(stumble)
get to the car
peeps get in again

(now this is the time you have to really think)
your buddies are drunk and wanna see what you car can do etc.... see YOU race... mean while they never would LET ALONE drive !!!

so you give er a bit .... and all is well..

no 9 times outta 10 its all good... no REAL problems

BUT

like I said .. I racked many a SWEET ride in my time.

I hope this and others posts ... make you consider .... this is a 60 thousand CAD ..automobile ( I know you know that)
and to remember ...
SH*T happens
and driving experience is INVALUABLE ....

always remember when passing a parked truck or van... coming up behind/beside it ... look under the car for a shadow that resembles legs ... cause it could be someone unknowingly about to step out in front of the car....

lesson learnt ... as with time you shall also.

take it easy man.

Congrats man, looks like you finally decided on an auto. Probably a good choice since you're just learning.

Don't forget about that break-in.

Re: Just got my coupe :)

Hey tec, what kinda stuff are you talking about?

For the break-in on an auto isn't it just to keep the revs under 3k and not to use the cruise control?

My salesmen told me there is no such thing as a break-in. He said "these vehicles come broken in already."

Re: Just got my coupe :)

Amazing, my first car was a little old Corolla that I loved, it got sandwiched because of *gasp* a careless beginner driver, not me.

I'm still waiting for my coupe, might not even be able to afford it, damn.

Who says the economy's messed up, when parents can buy $35k+ cars for kids. *sigh*

But hey, some people are just that lucky. Anyway, congratulations. Don't be the first one on this board to show us wrecked pix. Especially of the beatufiul CB color kind.

Re: Just got my coupe :)

AReddy22, not talking about break-in, you've got the owners manual for that. I was referring to an enhanced driving school like the one in the current thread https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...rt=2#Post52740 . It'll cost you a grand or so but you get schooled on the fun stuff and limits of your skill and a car's capabilities. Usually, you don't use your own car. ...dean

Re: Just got my coupe :)

Your salesman is an idiot - if these cars came broken in, your manual wouldn't instruct you to break them in. Generally just keep revs under 4k, but do vary the revs. Even an occasional trip over 4k should be fine, just don't make a habit out of it. Also, you'll want to break in your suspension and tires so don't take the turns too hard either at first. Enjoy the ride!

It's simple - because we've all been there already, and with few exceptions, I'd wager we've all done that.

Truth is, at 15 years old, you're an accident waiting to happen. No offense meant, it's just a statistical fact. 15 year olds are more worried about the tunes, the chicks, showing something off, looking at that other cool car, or whatever, than doing what you're SUPPOSED to be doing when driving, which is paying attention to driving.

Word to the wise: If you truly want to enjoy this car and have it for a long time, get yourself a $500.00 beater and keep that gorgeous machine in the garage where it's safe. Once you wreck the beater, your chances of keeping the G intact rise dramatically, because you'll have learned the lesson you don't want to hear about now...

Again, no insult intended, nothing against you personally. I just know all too well the nature of things, and believe me, it is the nature of things for kids to wreck their first car.

But hey... good luck, and enjoy your G!

I didn't wreck my first car.

I waited until I was 19, and wrecked my 2nd car.

Twice.
