Coupe + NYC

Snapped a few shots last night of my new coupe on the NJ side of the NYC waterline. Camera was a Canon Powershot A80 4MP. Man I need to get myself an SLR!

Very nice! Which location... looks like JC? You don't "need" an SLR. I took similar photos with an A70 a while back. As long as you spot meter, you can get amazing results. Don't be afraid to photoshop/composite different exposure settings together. It'll also allow you to color correct by getting rid of that yellow street light look and help bring out the vibrant DG color like in your last shot.

But yeah, an SLR would still blow away any consumer camera.

Yeah I have a ways to go in the photoediting department. The shots where you can see the empire state building are actually in between Weehawkin/Edgewater in a warehouse parking lot. I had 5 minutes there before I was kicked out by security.

The other shot was taken in Edgewater right by the Gorge Road shopping center. Any of you guys know better locations where I can take pictures without being bothered? I wanted to get more pics with different settings but security seems a bit fussy about random people taking pictures (Which I understand).

I think we took our pics at the same location? Border of Edgewater and weehawken. I went right into the parking lot for the Ferry. I never got bothered once. Even drove my car up on the walkway. If my e-brake failed, my car would have rolled into the hudson. A couple of cops drove by and saw me. Complimented me on the car and said that the pics would probably turn out awesome. But I had to go there a couple of times while I learned the ins and outs of using the camera.

WOW! Nice job on those pics. Hmmmm back to the drawing board for me. I t was actually my second time out. The weekend before I took pics and used my hands for holding the camera. Pictures came out all blurred due to exposing the camera and my shaking hands. This time I brought a tripod!

I was thinking of doing the ferry lot but I figured security would be real tight there. I will give it a shot next time.

BTW, do you guys notice the abundance of coupes around here? While I was taking pictures in edgewater only 2 cars drove by. One of them happened to be a pearl white coupe! They are everywhere.
