Just got back from Detroit, where the Big Three challenge university schools to design and build formula cars from ground up. What a great event: beautiful cars with terrific suspensions. All the student sharing parts and checking out each others solutions. Teams from Finland, Tokyo, Korea, Australia, Canada , puerto RIco, and on and on. I was with team usc and we had "bad news bear" (no money) effort with 19th overall. THere was 135 schools, I believe and only 34 finshed the last day of endurance racing, worth 40% of score....so big drama and leader changes as schools were flagged off the course.
Here's the grabber: Suzuki rep wants to start West coast challenge and looking for input as to where, etc. If you ever get a chance to wander the pits at this event you will be enthralled...guaranteed.
