What Warranty Repairs Have You Had?

I know there are a lot of 05 owners here, but for the rest of us (not that 05 owners can't have warranty issues), I just thought it might be good to start a thread where everyone can document their warranty repair experiences. Sorry if this has been done already. Just a few sentences about what the problem was, how easily the dealer covered/corrected it, and any other insight you might have regarding warranty issues.

I just picked up my 03 6MT last week. It has almost 32k miles and the only thing I think I need as far as warranty is possibly a bad front wheel bearing replaced. And I guess a peeling shift pattern plate on the ****. I will post after I take it in and let you guys know what went down.

Good Warranty Thread

I am getting my 03 G next week with 6000 miles on it and I am concerned about the warranty as well. I am not sure what to expect, I have heard alot of negatives about the 03's in general.

i was at my dlr over the weekend and a guy with an 03 CB coupe (very nice btw) was getting brakes replaced, and supposedly the brake warranty has been extended for the life of our warranty. im not sure if that was originally the case, but now i believe they are 3/36 at least, bc of the various probs with the stock brakes. correct me if im wrong veterans

Had my driver's side door handle replaced under warranty (also had my e-brake tightened under warranty while I was in).

- Radio/CD player/changer replaced after the unit quit playing CD's, gave an error message, and would not eject any of them.
- NAV system froze randomly when warm outside - dealer fixed with firmware update.
- Rear parcel shelf rattle - TSB applied and another fix attempt after that - rattle keeps coming back. Going in on Monday for attempt #3.
- Strange rattle sound from underneath the car outside when engaging the clutch from a stop.
- Burning oil smell a few times when stopped at a red light. Will have dealer check for engine oil leak on Monday.
- Clunk sound while turning in and out of driveways, coming from the roof behind the moonroof. Common problem - sounds like an acorn dropping on the roof. Dealer will attempt to fix on Monday.

Unhappy

1. Grease smears on the inside. Have taken to dealer 3 times so far. Last time the motors and assemblies were completely replaced.

2. Noise from moonroof, continually have to have it recleaned and get the proper grease reapplied.

3. Fuel pump and sending unit assembly replaced- gas gauge started to malfunction and turns out had a failure of pump and assembly going on.

4. Rattling noise when idling-could only hear it from cabin. dealer replaced the fuel line dampener?? whatever that is. I'm thinking they screwed something up after the fuel pump/assembly was replaced because that's when I started to hear the noises.

5. Brakes went out pretty quick but no warranty. Apparently only the A/T coupes were eligible for the 3/36 warranty. Most folks with Brembos got hosed.

6. Gears 1-3 feel like they grind sometimes even though clutch is fully pressed down. According to dealer, everything is ok. Going to take it back in soon. Not happy that I have to rev it up to get it into gear..WTF is dat all about.

7. One of the memory numbers on the Bose keeps turning off. Gonna get it checked.

As far as the car goes...I now have 40K on mine and my was a virgin when I got it...lol Hopefully she won't end up being high maintenance. I'm very dissapointed with all the issues I've had considering this is supposed a "luxury car" but I still wouldn't trade it for anything else.

1. rear clicking noise - dealer re-greased and retorqued rear axle-bolt, under warranty.
2. cd player stop playing - dealer replaced unit, under warranty.
3. xm radio frequent signal drop, have to restart the engine to regain signal - dealer replaced xm tuner, under warranty.

Driver door window motor replaced...
New front rotors/pads
rear rotor resurfaced/new pads
New seat cushion and leather bottom

Other than that, the little noises/rattles seem to come and go with the change of seasons/Temps....

No real complaints 24,000 miles and enjoying it like it was day one

Rear pads replaced twice for sqealing, still sqealing.

Pass. Side window motor replaced

Grease streaks on both windows fixed.

Transmission control valve went out, couldn't shift out of 3rd gear.

But....even after all that, I still love her at 18k miles

Had to get the handbrake fixed... Parked in my driveway and pulled it up and there was a snap and it didn't hold the car anymore. No, the handbrake wasn't abused, just used for parking.

4000 miles on it now.

At like 80 miles, my headlight ballast blew. Dealer said it just happens sometimes with a bad ballast since they suck a lot of power. Nothing else after 6500 miles.

3000 miles only, but had to replace the passengers heated seat button. It fell in through the center console!
