Unhappy Missing SoCal

Well, I did it. I finally relocated to Boston from the LA area (job related) and I can tell you I am fricken homesick. I am the first to obey the traffic laws but out here, you cannot enjoy the best of the G35C with all the cops around...and they, from what I noticed, are big fans of the G.

First, I dealt with about a foot of snow (all season tires) and slush and could not drive much. My buddy who relocated with me has the Pilots and he had to just leave his car on the side of the road (I warned him). We are both enjoying dry roads right now but there are potholes and/or cops all over the place.....$HIT! We both have been pulled over and warned about speeding...and for what it is worth....speeding here is not speeding in SoCal.

Anyway, I really miss the 110 and 405 freeways where I could just let go and enjoy the car. Oh well, looks like I might have to give it up for a 4x4. It was fun while it lasted.

You drove your car all the way out there???

And dude, in the same time it takes me to commute the 405 and 110, you could take streets to another neighbor state, and still get there before me

Know what you mean. Just got off the plane from SoCA. Luckily, I live on the East but travel out to the West monthly, all on company's expense!! Going back again next week. There is no place like it out there!!

BTW, I had a rental Caddy this week. What a POS. Drove the crap out of it all week, doing 95 today on I-15 going to catch a flight out of San Diego. Made it from Temecula to San Diego in 40 minutes

My GF's cousin moved from the SF Bay Area to the Boston area about a two years ago. She hated it so much she used to call my GF crying. One day she called saying she couldn't leave the house because her car was snowed in. She moved back after a year.

I'm a born and raised New Yorker, but I lived in SoCal (Newport Beach) for a year and a half, and had to move back to NY last June, which really sucked. I miss SoCal too, and I didn't even live there that long!

I bought the G35 thinking I would be staying in SoCal. Now that the G is in NY with its crappy boring traffic and cop filled roads, I keep feeling that the G doesn't belong here. Just took my snow tires off yesterday though, so got my handling back for the summer

Anyway, I really miss the 110 and 405 freeways where I could just let go and enjoy the car.
Forget the freeways - those roads are NOTHING compared to the fun you can have in the canyons. Angeles Crest, Topanga Canyon, Mulholland Drive, Rim of the World, Ortega, just to name a few, and many other less well known ones. Those roads were incredible. Nothing like them out here in the northeast.

Yeah....been there already. It sucked big time....I just turned off the VDC and plowed through. Never had to do that near Hermosa Beach

I agree with the post that the G does not belong in any place where the roads sucks, there are more cops than good looking girls, and the weather stinks. I feel like crying right now.....(I repeat....more cops than good looking girls).

ps....Mom...forget sending money, send girls and sunshine please.

Yep. I moved to the Bay Area from OC a few years back, and I miss a) roads that don't make me suspect the pavers were drunk; b) really hot women; and c) sunny beaches with aforementioned really hot women.

Welcome to the East Coast, where you freeze your ***** off in the winter, and sweat them off again in the summer.
