new wheels for under 20 dollars?

Hi, I own a Lakeshore slate g35 coupe. My friend with a Z06 recently sprayed his stock wheels with black spray paint (a special one that can take high temperatures). It cost under 20 dollars. Has anyone else tried this? What do you guys think of this process?

My parents said it was okay for me to change the wheels to black but I had to be completely sure I want to do it. I can't decide to change it after 6 months. I have to stick with the decision. What do you guys think of black wheels on a Lakeshore slate g35. Maybe gunmetal or grey instead?

1. I think you mean your parents own a G35 coupe.
2. Do NOT spray paint your wheels, that is just silly. Do yourself (and your parents) a favor and have your wheels professionally painted.

it would look mean on a Z06 because that car is a monster, and it fits it's style.. the g35 is a clean luxory car w/ great performance, spraypainted wheels will look out of place..

if you were to save up and buy some quality forged wheels (volks, nismo, etc.) you can get them in bronze, gunmetal, black, etc. it would look classy and aggressive

bottomline, the Z06 can pull it off, the g35 can't!

I've refinished wheels before, it's not as easy as it sounds. Well, it is if you want a sh*tty job.

Honestly though, I would pass on this idea. HOWEVER, the 05 19's would look good in a light gun metal finish. Hmmmmmm

If I want I can do it without my parents blessing, but I want theirs. That's why I wanna see what they think of it, and what you guys think of it before I actually do it. I probably wouldnt do black on the g35. The only time I think black looks good is if you have a black car. I was more thinking of a darker shade of gunmental. And I was wondering about bronze on a Lakeshore slate g35.

But you guys are probably right. I probably won't do it. I just saw my friends car, so I wondered a little about it for the G35.

If you are going to change the color, powdercoat it instead of painting.

What ever kid, come back when you don't need mommy and daddy's permission. What is with these posts recently. This has to be a joke.

It does not sound like a good idea to me. The color combination sounds bad and I can't imagine a can of spray paint giving professional looking results.

guys guys guys... ur being a little hard on the guy. Im sure hes just really close with his parents and thats cool. Bro I think everyone on here is trying to say, if u dont like it then ur parents dont really matter. Its gonna be u driving the thing and not them. My parents hate it that I got FI in my car and everytime my dad gets outta the car he says, "this thing is a rolling headache" BUT its my car so I dont care. I love it and I paid for it and thats all that matters! haha I love my parents though

If my son spray painted the wheels of a G35...i would kick his A$$!!! and then take the car away for being so stupid. But that's just me.

Talk to your Dad before you do anything.
