I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their CD player.

My 05 DG/Stone 5AT is only a month old. The CD player rejects 75-80% the CDs I put in slots 2-6 (commercial and CD-R CDs). If I put those same CDs in slot 1, they all play. It also sometimes loses it's place when I turn the ignition off and starts up with track 1 again when I start the engine (I understand that this was a problem in previous years' models). I will raise this problem with the dealer when it goes in for the 3750 mile work.

 

yeah get that taken care of. I would go to a cheaper place if you can't change the oild yourself for the 3750 work.

 

I know how you worded the q, but let me guess, most of your CDs are burnt, and not from a store, right? Have you tried loading 6 commercial CDs and still had this problem (not specifically stated in your post)? 6 store bought CDs should always take; the manual states this to some extent. Had the same problem in both my 03 and 05. I've found that rearranging them, and always stacking them 1 to 6 (sometimes you hafta take them all out and start over) alleviates this to some extent. Other option- it'll always take five- leave one empty.

 

This problem has occurred with any number of CDs, 2 thru 6. I'm not sure if I've loaded all commercial CDs, but I'll try that next week when I head from NM to Tenn.

 

Are you playing MP3s also?

I had a problem playing MP3s when burnt straight to the cd as data without a playlist.

After a few tries, i burnt it with a playlist and works great.
