What is your car worth noW?
Do you guys know how much your car is worth now?
For all the people out there who plan to sell their car some time in their life, you will not believe what a repair job will do to your car. I had my rear bumper replaced. The color is a slight off the rest of the car, but it is barely noticeable unless you stare. I told that to terry over at "real trade-in values" at edmunds.com, and he told me my car is worth around 20-21 k. I can't even believe it! I was planning on trading it in for a 2005 6MT too. Everything might just go down the drain...
I thought the G doesn't depreciate that quickly. I hate accidents.

They don't compared to most cars, but any accident kills your value... No one knows how bad it really was, so the value goes down the drain. My guess is its still probably worth more than 21k to you, since you know its history. I would just enjoy it and not worry about the crazy one model year upgrade.
with all the rock chips and rattles on my coupe. i'd be lucky to get 10 bucks for it. unless infiniti does something about their paint jobs, this is the last time i'm sporting a G.

I agree with PatrickWong ...My red G also has a ton of rock chips and since the white stands out like a sore thumb , I can't keep up with the touch up paint ! there are so many of them ! i would love to repaint my car and get a decent paint job but I know that would kill the value..Stuck with crappy stock paint job !! URGH !!!!
an accident will do that.
there are a ton of G's out there. i'm sure someone could find your exact G, just with no accidents. So they would have no reason to pay that same price.
it sucks though, i know how it is.

chips happen on all cars....it's not Infiniti's paint....try slowing down and getting off that person's a**
value shouldn't be affected that much for a rear bumper replacement....smokedhen, what's your mileage and condition of the rest of the car? and keep in mind also, there are different values...trade-in, loan, and retail...which I am sure most of you know....so, there is no way that your car is worth $7-10k less just because the bumper was replaced...
selective selling is the key...someone will want it and be willing to pay your price (as long as it's reasonable and comparable to other Gs for sale in your area) Good luck!

The estimate was from the renowned Terry over at "Real-World Trade-In" at edmunds.com. This is what I told him.
Location: NYC, NY
Time of ownership: since August 2004
Make: 2004 Infiniti 5 Speed Automatic G35 Coupe
Estimated Mileage at trade-in: 6875..maybe less
Color: laser red/charcoal leather
Major Options: Premium Package, Splash guards, Carpeted trunk mat, Body side moldings
Condition: Very New, 3 hairline scratches at front right bumper, replaced rear bumper (minor difference in color, not noticeable), a small dime sized ding near the passenger side rear window. Interior is perfect. Tires are still new. Brakes are good. Had one oil change so far. Front windshield has a dime size crack from ice, but will be fixed by trade-in time.
Other: No damage/insurance claims, or repaints. Replaced bumper on own expense
Plus, I plan to get my rear bumper repainted to match the rest of the car perfectly. Spending a few hundred dollars and trying to save the value of my car seems worth it. I hope it helps.
