You basically want to keep the same diameter of your original 18"s (or 17"s) or else it'll mess up your Speedometer.

I got 245/35/19 (F) and 275/35/19 (R) for my J5's... I got Toyo T1-S's with my package. It also really depends on what you plan on using it for... if you're going to track it, you want maximum traction but tread wear will be short...

If you want a good grip tire, with nice long tread life (meaning 20k+ miles)... you wouldn't want the ultra soft compound that you'll have to replace after 10k miles.

Go on the tirerack website, and they have some nice articles you should read up.

btw... for 4 tires, with the 19"s... look to spend ~$1k. Maybe with a group buy, you can get it ~$900.

Hope this helps.

It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want cheap good tires, go for hankook ventus k104. If you want to spend a little more, then go for kumho ecsta supra 712. If you want to spend a little more than that, Kumho Ecsta MX (which are my favorite tires). I am not a real fan of Falkens, nor Toyos. Toyos tend to have weak sidewalls and Falkens are rather noisy. Pirelli p7000s just straight suck IMO. Nitto555 are good for the first few months, then as tread wears down, it gets really noisy but hey, it has awesome dry traction but don't you dare think about driving with those in the rain! Dunlop sp9000 aren't really up to par either...and if you have money bridgestone potenza poleposition s03s are really good but will only last like 10,000 miles. hope that helped!

With 9/10" setup, you can go as wide as 255/295. On our chasis and suspension setup, with proper offset, we can get 275/18 to fit up front. There's little room for error and slight rubbing though. A word of caution, going too aggressivly staggered will increase understeer. Stiffer sway bar in back can fix this though. Best to go adjustable sways f/r.

I'm running a 245/40/18 and 275/40/18 setup on my Z. Pirelli P-Zero Neros. I've noticed a bit of understeer when I'm driving hard. On the Z, I've also found the rear spring rate to be too stiff. I need a bit more weight to transfer back for the 275 to hook up tight.
