Need new brake pads...which ones??
Need new brake pads...which ones??
I have done some research online and most threads or sites that I have read either say to go with the Hawk pads or EBC Greenstuff pads. Do any of you suggest other brake pads that will create less dust than the OEM ones?? Also, the only Greenstuff pads I have seen are for automatics...do they make them for the 6MT w/ brembos as well? Thanks!

I like how the Hawk Pads perform. I'm using HP+ pads from Hawk, I've had some fitment issues but easily solved with a grinder
. Be aware that if you have a thing for squeaky brakes, the HP+ isnt for you.

i've had the hawk pads on my car for about 3 months now. I also replaced the rotors with the cross drilled rotors. the whole setup cost me less than the oem stuff. much less brake dust and the braking is great as well. i got the stuff from coz on this forum. no problems.
I switched my 2004 5AT pads to Carbotech Bobcats a few months ago. They're a ceramic based performance street pad, with much less brake dust, and I've had no problems with noise. Their website -- www.carbotecheng.com -- doesn't specifically list an application for Infiniti, but the 350z pads will work. I believe this is true for the Brembos as well, but you can call or email them to make sure.

Performance pads trade off COLD weather performance for increased HOT performance.
There is no free lunch, oem pads must function well on the first stop in 20F conditions, whereas performance pads assume you are already warmed up to at least 100F-200F!
A single full 60 to zero stop only increases rotor/pad temperature by less than 140F from ambient..........sufficient when it is 70F outside but not so for 20F rotors sitting over night in winter...........the first 1/2 second is the critical time when you need full friction.
Not something you want to learn in practice come next winter as you slide thru a Stop sign/light....rear end someone.

I used to use Axis MetalMasters on my legend ... Great grip, long lasting, and very low dust. As has been mentioned about some other brands - they do squeek a bit under light pressure. It's just due to their composition.

Did u not want to take advantage of the free pad replacement offered by Infin due to pad wear issue? Think it applies to 2004.5 non-brembo. . . just a thought; details here: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-coupe-v35-2003-07/51228-brake-warranty-info-needed.html

I have brembo though...so this does not apply to me. About the Greenstuff actually creating more brake dust than OEM..can anyone else confirm this?? I thought about ordering those later today.
