Any Good Photoshop Experts Out There???

I need a little help...how do you cut the rim out of a picture? How do you get a perfect circle that covers the entire rim and none of the rest of the background?
Any help would be appreciated...let me know if this does not make sense...all I wanna do is cut a rim and paste in on a car...thanks

enlarge pic and use the lasso tool

brittain 04-28-2005 11:51 PM

I use the lasso tool to cut out the rim, but like you, I was looking for a better way to cut a perfect circle.

Thanks guys...but like Britain...I thought that there was a better tool than that...I guess you just have to keep trying until you lasso it perfectly, huh?

brittain 04-29-2005 12:27 AM

ah, I didnt know you could turn the marquee tool into an ellipse. nice! now you just merge photos and move the wheel to the other car.

Not to steal this thread, but how do you change color? the only way Ive figured out makes it a flat, dull color with no shading or reflection at all- just dumping color over the car.

S-Tuned 04-29-2005 12:30 AM

give me the pic and ill do it because its kinda complicated if your doing an object with shadows and curves and stuff like a car

GRider35c 04-29-2005 12:49 AM

post up the pictures and someone will do it in there spare time

g4s 04-29-2005 12:52 AM

change color = desaturate > change the hue / saturation / brightness

is this what you wanted?

I wouldn't see the point, actually, of taking wheels OUT of a photo. Laying new ones into the photo does not require removal of the previous. (it would be an unnecessary step) And the one above this has rough edges. Here is a png with transparency of just the wheels. The one of the car without the wheels is too large, and jpg's don't do transparency.

GRider35c 04-29-2005 05:47 PM

put a pic of the rims you want on the car and well do it for you...

TopTech, i just did that to see if thats what he wanted, it took me 30 seconds to do that...
