V8 in a coupe?

Has anyone thought about (or tried) putting the 4.5L Infiniti V8 in a G35 coupe?

Not impossible; Back in 86 we put a 400cid small block chevy coupled to a turbo350 in an Opel GT (Yeah, that's what he wanted); it was a long tough project and when done, the car would go sideways for the first 1\8 mile down the track so the times were never great, but it sure was a blast to drive that beast!!!

Thought I would share that... I'm sure someone will do the 4.5 install eventually and can't wait to see the results.

every time i hear about attempting this project, two things come to mind.......Racing Dynamics' M3 and the Hartge H50, both of which coming out to more than $100k, but both luscious. Aw hell, I'd like to shoehorn an LS1 into my G coupe, but i like our tranny much more than the T56 and matching those two up would be a bit of a nightmare. Oh well.

See the above post, Top Secret squeezed a blown VK45DE in the V35 chassis.

Were there any fitment issues? I presume custom engine mounts.

let's put it this way...we wanted to go AWD with this car but it wasn't possible because of the super tight fit of the V8.
