Clutch Burn Up ????????

Last night on the 30th of May ..It had been smelling as if something was burning...I picked it up from the paint shop i received hell damage about 3wks. ago....
O.K. my car would not go in gear...I had to get to about 7k to 8k rpm for the car even to move.... Then the burning started to get worse i tried to make it home but could not make it my a$$ had to get towed home...What a pile of **** ...I love my car to death....I gotta take it to the dealership monday on the 2nd of june to see what the problem is....The car only has 4732 miles on it ...
If anyone has any ideas' on what the problem is please let me know... I have 6 speed manual.....

Re: Clutch Burn Up ????????

Yeh that 7 or 8 K rpms would cause some burning dude. Sounds like the clutch for sure. Let the dealer have a look and fix it..... good luck bro.

Re: Clutch Burn Up ????????

maybe the bodyshop road-tested the car and destroyed your clutch

Re: Clutch Burn Up ????????

Isn't there a rev-limiter that would not allow a 7K-8K rev???

Re: Clutch Burn Up ????????

How did you get 7K to 8K rpms? I thought our cars were limited to 6600 rpms.

Re: Clutch Burn Up ????????

Isnt 6700 redline?

Yea that does sound like your clutch,,,,wassup with the paint shop....If it was me I would have reached in my trunk, busted out old bessy (33 inch/30 oz composite baseball bat)...walked to the painter that painted my car...cracked his helmet..then gone after the manager...boom.. crack his helmet too...then hunt down the owner and crack his helmet for allowing his employees to dick around with my baby....

You see..I treat my cars like my women...dont disrespect them..and I will allow you to live.

Re: Clutch Burn Up ????????

check it out.....i didn't leave any gas for them to dick around with....Plus everyday i went by the place to see is it had been moved or painted.....Check this out i don't know if this was part of the problem but it seemed as if my fuel injector were also cloging up.....I could press on the gas and it would rev. high and then come down..... i don't know but i hate this ****.... Re: Clutch Burn Up ????????

Hmmm ... thats odd gump

so let me get this straight ...

your in park ... or neutral ... and you step on the gas and it revs right up like you say.... does it hesitate at all???
does it sound odd? ... does it do anything you would say ..sounds like less power or .... has something Clogged?

also ... outta park ... say first ..

after you put it in gear .... actually is it hard to get it in gear ... anyone in particular or all of them?
after its in gear ... and you rev the motor up while moving ... does it seems like the emergency brake is on .. IS IT ? joke ... does it seem like something is holding you back or the car is sorta revving but not almost fully in gear and not moving so much ... therefore you flat the gas ??

cause if thats the issue ... your clutch is gone ... or needs to be either replaced ... bled or reset.

se you said you had a accident ... SO ... if the clutch fluid was leaking from the accident per say... then this would cause the loss of power to move the car seemingly

later man

Re: Clutch Burn Up ????????

all i can say is...

A clutch doesnt mess up on its own at 4500miles. Either you have been driving it really crapily since day one or someone else tried to mess it up.

Re: Clutch Burn Up ????????

with that said then gumpy, with it being a ALL OF A SUDDEN type thing ...I'll put money on the fact the clutch fluid or lines have air in them.

later man.
