Just be sure to sand down the shiney spots first. Saves wear on the buffer.

Heard of "swirl marks"? Those things invented them!

polishing the paint won't hurt it at all if done correctly and in fact will make it look a lot better. However, done wrong it will ruin it. I suggest reading here, http://autopia.org

If you've never polished a car using a rotary, I would advise against using the G35 as your practice ground. A Porter Cable machine polisher is much more user friendly for the novice and can produce some very good results.

As mentioned above, autopia is a great resource. It is a site dedicated to paint protection and maintenance.
