Yeah, I wasn't interested in buying them (mine already has them equiped) but I was just curious as to how expensive of a kit it was.

There's difference between the stock Brembos and the Gran Turismo kit. They're not the same, so you can't compare the prices.

You would have to guess that they would go for around 4500-5000 for the set as is.

It's no wonder they removed them from the 05s.

Performance Nissan was selling a package of OEM front and rear Brembo calipers with 2-piece stoptech rotors for about $3500-4000. Keep in mind this is for better rotors than what comes stock.

The cheapest I've seen RETAIL for the calipers is $900 each for the front, $700 each for the rear. Then you have to add on the cost of rotors. If you want the OEM rotors, it's alot of $$, not worth it. Otherwise, you can get generic slotted/crossdrilled rotors front and rear for about $400.

Another way to judge prices, since you'll never find how much Infiniti actually pays for the calipers, is to go off ebay prices. New front calipers go for about $900-1000. I've never seen the rear calipers being sold by themselves, but I was able to get 2 new rear calipers for $500 total from an ebay seller.

If you look at the prices of used OEM brembos, it's about $1500-$2000 for the set depending on the condition.

For the $$ though, many people would opt for the 13" stoptech kits if their car didn't come with the Brembos. I would have gone with that route, but I had already purchased front brembos early on when I had the car.

I love my brembos....and I get tons of attention because of them. All you have to do is keep your rims clean and Armor all your tires, and those babies stand out like non other. God damn i love em'.

Define 'worth'... that's a good starting point. The GranTurismo kit is one of the best, hands down, kits on the market. If the retail on the gold calipres is $900 each, I'd happily buy the GT kit over the nissan ordered brembo gear.

Of course if you want some better brakes yet - try to retrofit the Porsche ceramic systems. Of course $3k will maybe buy you one rotor there.

I have the non-Brembo setup on my Z. The braking distance is comparable to the Brembo setup. However, I get major fade after three consecutive hard stops. (about 85-0). The biggest advantage of performance brake setup is heat dissipation and fade.
