G2 Brake Caliper Paint Kit

Here's what product I'm referring to:

http://www.sportcompactonly.com/prod...2200&c=145&l=2

Me and my dad were going to paint my brake calipers and we were wondering if anyone has done this, pics of the final product, and whether you had to take off the calipers to paint them? If you have any pictures please post them. Also I have a 2005 diamond graphite G35 with the 19 inch stock rims what color would you suggest to me, the colors I'm looking at are Blue, red, or gold. I was thinking blue might look the best because it's not as showy and then gold as second best. Well tell me what you think of my color choices, what colors you would go for given my cars exterior in ranking order, and what you've heard about the product please. Thanks for the help everyone!

Its an awsome kit. You have to take off the wheels to put them on obviously put you dont necessarily have to take off ur calipers. I think on a DG, red woud look the best b/c it will match ur taillights. I think blue would look odd unless you have a AB, CB, or TB. GOld would kind of be a rip off of the brembos. Just my .02 but I think you should stick with red. Its not too hard to do just be carefull. Use the search and type "Calipers" and youll see someone with an 05 who painted his calipers. Its a very nice kit though

Ryan, your calipers are smaller on an '05 but here's red on DG:

you think it looks odd though pratik. As in my calipers are too small to bother painting them?

I appreciate the advice TwiBlue and Pratik.

I painted my calipers on my 02 TL Type S way before I got my 04 Coupe 6MT. It was really easy to do. Just take your time and remember to clean the calipers as good as you can. I used a wire brush to get rid of as much break dust as I could. I put on a couple layers but I wasn't using the G2 kit. I just had high temperature engine paint. It was meant to paint engine blocks with but it worked just the same. Good luck with the project. Since it is a fairly simple project have some fun with it and don't rush.

Well I'm not sure it looks odd. I mean in the link that I provided they do seem a little small but in some angles it looks pretty good to me. I think if you like the look then go for it. Then you just gotta decide what color you want.

I'm not sure if I like the red on the DG but thats just me - a little too flashy. I think something a little darker would look more appropriate. I was looking at the black or the gray/silver color. I think the gray/silver color would look pretty good for me.

Hope you like it. Red does match but can start looking a little "ricey" to me a bit. I just wanted a subtle difference.

Who knows, maybe after I see yours I'll want red too.

"ricey"? hehe. I am the one with the 05 DG with red and I have no regrets about doing it in red. Love it. PM me if you have any questions..though most should be answered in that thread that was provided. Good luck and enjoy....

damn pdjafari, you are forgetting a most valuable point!! you have to prescrub the calipers with poop before peeing on them to make sure you get a good coating.

Has anybody ever looked at caliper "covers" ?
The non-Brembo calipers don't really have a flat top surface, and look a bit weird (to me ;-) ) when painted.
If covers, with a smoother, more flat, surface existed, it would look better IMHO.

Where have you seen caliper covers RNO? Can you buy them for a G? If so, where?
