I don't know how or what you guys are doing to chirp 4th...you must have a really high power F/I motor????

Stock I doubt its possible but I am not saying anyones lying but maybe your ear wanted to hear it that you did...in your head? Or co incidince of a freak occurence at the same time leading you to believe it was a chirp? (i.e. a bird chirping RIGHT as you passed by and shifted )

I find it hard to believe cause its a big feat for Supras with +700rwhp to be able to chirp 4th...

I was doing this when the car was stock, no FI. My best friend has the same car, same year and everything. I told him I had been getting forth and he sai NO WAY. I had to take him out for a ride. first try I got it. He was trippin! He then tried to tell me my car was faster. I just laughed.

4th! maybe with stock tire size and 50 degree weather! With these conditions and power shifting on 275's in back.....3rd is best.

You people who cant spin 4th need to learn what powershifting is.

IE: DONT LET OFF THE GAS DURING A SHIFT

If you cant atleast chirp 4th in this car doing that, you need to learn faster clutch work.

For those who say 700 hp supras chriping 4th is an acomplishment..... Yeah... maybe if you consider the HUGE tires on the back..... do a little hp of G35 vs surface area of contact patch VS 700 hp supra vs surface area of contact patch, youll notice the supra has MUCH bigger tires than a stock G, 101% of the time. More surface area = harder to break traction....

Lets be real here... for ~300 hp we have slightly over sized tires. A F body, with the same tire size as us, and + ~50 hp, you can let 4th go all day long, without power shifting (trust me my friend does it almost every time I'm in his car) so if your gonna say chriping IE: BARLEY LOOSING TRACTION to 4th is impossible, hold your gas down longer in shifts, youd be surprised.

So can an M3 chrip 4th too??? Or do the wide tires prevent it from doing so?

First of all, I think chirping anything higher than 2nd gear is indicative of bad shifting (i.e. harmful to the tranny) or bad tires. However, here's a video of me chirping 3rd and 4th. If you listen, you'll hear that I missed an earlier shift and so to try to make up time I powershifted from thereon out.

Standard disclaimer: Rear tires were 265/40/18 BF Goodrich drag radials. This is not good on the tranny. Do not try at home. Video is on a closed track with a bad driver and a (sold) Vortech supercharger.

Yes, they are still street tires. A supra with 700+ would eaisly be on gumballs.... so its an entirely differnt story, as i wrote above.

Hitting 4th with a brand new clutch is easy if you power shift. As the clutch wears out it gets harder. I did it several times when I first got the car.
