Just wondering, how many G owners have been pulled over for minor offenses..
SubscribeI'm talking about minor things that are technically "illegal", but most people do it anyway. Just wondering how many of you guys have been pulled over for minor "fix it" tickets, such as things like Clear Corners, Tints, No Front Plate in particular, since they seem to be fairly popular, and I'd like to hear anything else as well.

i got pulled over right near my school hofstra university, for to dark windows because they are limo tinted, and because i have no front plate i talked my way out of it, thank god, but if i did get the sumons it would only have been a equipment ticket, so no biggie just more $$$$$$$$$$$ no points.. as long as its not a moving violation your good, in ny anyway. i dont know the rules for other places.

shall i start a list? lol Here are Ohio's stupid non-moving-violation traffic laws for you (like NY, no points, just $$):
-window tint 5% on all but windshield ($90 ticket)
-window tint 5% (2nd ticket)
-window tint 5% (warning)
-window tint 35% ($90 ticket)
-stereo too loud during daylight hours (warning)
-tinted license plate covers (yes, $90 ticket)
All of these, my personally collection. What next, my tire pressure is 2 lbs low on the front right tire?

Was doing 90-95mph on the highway at night, got stopped by a state trooper...
and he gave me a ticket for no front plate, not the speeding ticket!

I've gotten pulled over for speeding... But for the minor stuff, I got pulled over twice in the same weekend for having expired plates. But then I went to court and since I had fixed it, they dismissed the charge.

Exactly why I like to leave it off. When the cop goes through the trouble to pull you over, its extremely rare that he will let you off with just a warning, but if the guy is somewhat forgiving, he will write you up for something of a less offense. On the other hand, you can get a real ***hole who will give you the ticket for both.Originally Posted by DrPJM1

I am scared about getting tints, only because I am afraid of getting pulled over. Thats a pretty impressive list there woods! I just ordered clear corners, but I highly doubt that many officers know and are looking for clear corners being white instead of amber.

Started as a Speeding ticket, ended as a No plate ticket, then 2 weeks later I got a warning for no front plate. That's it so far. No plate in MD is only a $55 ticket. So I still don't have it on . Rather just pay $55 and keep it off.

why are tint shops legal if we're going to get pulled over.
i got pulled over for no front plates (well actually i had a front plate but it is just a plate with an infiniti symbol) and also tinted front windows.
i told the officer this is not fair and i dont deserve it. he gave me a ticket for no front plate still. 10 bux. whatever.

Because the shops are supposed to only tint to the legal level. In some states its a certain percent in the front, in some (like NJ) you cant have any tint in the front. Yet still, you see tons of cars with tints all around. The shops dont seem to have any problems doing the work.Originally Posted by j12baller

And whats the point of even having the front plate on if its just a blank one with an infiniti logo on it? Either put the actual plate on, or leave it off all together. But you are lucky! Only $10 for that ticket?! Mine was $50!

they can offer illegal levels of tint because it's for "off road" or "show use" only. If your willing to buy it, they will sell it. I asked for "legal tint" on my first car...ended up with 35%, and I thought i was legal. Got pulled over, and explained that to the cop, and he flat out called me a "liar" and gave me a ticket. Hense, the next car had 5%...if 35% is illegal, might as well go with 5%. The ticket is the same price!

tint for $150- got out of it cause I got it the day before I left the states, called a few weeks later from a satellite phone on the Afghan-Pak border and got off. that always works
speeding x 2- both reduced (1 was originally reckless driving), but still on my record
