Will getting 20" rims offset the NAVI???

Sup everybody,

I haven't been here a while, kinda feel guilty now though..hehe. Just been bz driving my new car I guess. I still love it though. I wanna start modding it now though, starting with lowering it. I was at the dealership the other day to get my oil change. The service dude told me that if I put some 20's on, that it would offset my Navi system. I was like..WTF...no way. Cause I plan on only putting some 20's on when I get the funds. I told him, isn't the positioning and calculation based on GPS information? He said that everything is based on the wheel sensor, and getting 20's will throw off the calculation of the speed and timing. For example, he said that the Navi will tell you that you’re at your destination, but actually it’s another 20 miles away. I still don't believe the service person though. Does anybody know the truth to this? Thanks people.

I'm a pilot and know allot about GPS and that has nothing to do with the wheels!
It is all based on tracking not calculating through the wheels.

Another lie by a service department. The only thing 20's can potentially cause to your car is that your speedo can be slightly inaccurate if you get the wrong size tires.

GPS is all about satellites, it doesnt need any info from your wheels. like vodkarocket said, if you get the wrong sized tires, your speedo might be off, just check a tire size calculator to make sure you maintain the same outside circumfrence. you should be doing this anyways to make sure your VDC and ABS arent affected. even if it was off, it would be more like 200 meters, not 20 miles.
