Instrument Cluster Lens Cracked?
I got in the car last week and the clear plastic "lens" over the gauges has a new, 3-4 inch crack from the bottom-right, extending up and to the left. Anyone else have this problem?
I assume the plastic was installed with some tension. I haven't touched it (or even cleaned it!) in some time.
Just curious if anyone else had this problem - didn't find any mention of it when I did a search on "instrument."

It was used when I bought it 19 months ago. The crack just appeared within the last week.
I doubt (can't prove, but doubt) anyone messed with the gauges. Instead, I suspect it is that the lense was overtightened or misalligned at the factory. I owned a first-generation MR2 and over the course of 3-4 years most of the plastic in the dash cracked. In that case, the metal supports under the plastic were misaligned. Once I straightened those up, the replacement plastic lasted for a long time. Guessing (hoping) that's just the case here.
