Thumbs up Best way to sell a used car, URGENT!!!

Hello all.
Almost ready to join G-Family. But I need to sell my old car first. I want to sell it to private party but I need your feed back plz.

First of all, the car is 2000 Honda Accord SE with dark green color. Its mileage is about 86k and car runs great. Just put new Michelline new tires at all four corners. Mechanically Accord is fine.

However there is cosmetic problems.
There is a crack in the windshield due to a rock and it is about 15 inches long.
There are also numerous door dings.
And the biggest problem is my wife side swiped at the rear door corner and paint is stripped.

My question is should I fix these problems before I sell it?
Or just leave it and get less money?

Any feedback would be well come.

leave it and get less money. You're definately gonna lose money if you fix it and sell it. Good luck.

I agree with Clokwork, Fix the windshield and don't worry about the rest of the car...

I'd fix the glass and leave the rest. You'll lose money on the paint damage but a broken windshield could cost you the sale. In Texas, a crack like that won't get past the state inspection.

What kind of glass coverage do you have on the car?

Also, I'd detail the car or have it detailed - you'd be surprised what a good wash & wax can do for the 'curb appeal' of your car.

You should inquire about the price for paintless dent removal. If you can get out all the door dings, the car will look a lot better.

Definitely get the car detailed and clean the interior and spray some Febreeze in there so it has a slight scent. A detailing would cost around $40-50 bucks but you will get a couple hundred more for it at least.

Like P_Diddy said, get dent wizard or some other paintless dent repair place, I think it was around $180-200 for a whole panel. Get the interior and engine compartment cleaned up well.

Fis the glass, might cost you 3-400, but it will get you an extra 1000. for get the body work, maybe buy some touch up paint for the scratches.

the glass should only run you about $160-200. if you are in the nyc area, go by shea studium.

if its small stuff- normal wear and tear, then it's kinda expected when buying a used car. personally, if the mechanical portion of it is fine- then i dont worry too much about the dings. just price it appropriately and you'll sell it. good luck!

Do you wonder why all used car dealers use paintless dent removal BEFORE they sell the cars? Two reasons. The cars bring more money and more inportantly - they sell more quickly.

Your car will be competing with other cars for the buyer's money. You have to make your car more desirable. It needs to be detailed and repaired. This includes the windshield and door dings. Your new tires are great.

I have used Dent Wizard and am very happy with them. A typical panel is $50-$100 depending on the number of dents. Call 1-800 DENT WIZ (I am not affiliated with them.)

If you don't fix it up, you are limiting yourself to buyers who are looking for beaters. And that's a small subset of the total market.
