I wasn't sure before I bought either but, having it has grown on me and I like it more every time I look at it. If you decide to get it make sure you order extra starch.

If you read enough about the G35, you'll come across the phrase "looks like someone inexplicably left an ironing board on the trunk."

They are talking about the stock spoiler.

They are right.

On any color.

I like the look "with" better. The stock spoiler does have a function. When it is part of the whole package, it contributes to lowering the C/D of the car from.29cd to .28cd. Any aftermarket spoiler most likely hasn't been wind tunnel tested and is going to drag more and slow you down, decrease gas mileage etc... ,but you may not care. Knowing it actually does something and isn't just there for looks, makes it look better to me. IMHO

Thanks red willow, got the exact same thing save the tint, finally have a nice pic to show my friends what I got. I got mine put on at the dealership since its the only part of the Aero package I had to have and there was one ready for pickup. If you have them put the spoiler on at the dealership, IMPORTANT NOTE: there will be metal shavings in the trunk you can hear when you open/close it, and a little came out when I did, but I leased and dont use my "trunk." In fact I bought a regular size bucket the other day to wash it with and had to push hard to squeeze it in.

I did wish they let a little air under them, guess it works best. The sales guy must have a lot of kids coming in there b/c he told me over and over, "This is just the stock spoiler." LOL! Like I wanted a 3-tier Civic riceboy wing.

Heh, well you can't prove your science by me. I'm getting better mileage just about everyone that's posted it here, and I don't have the factory ironing board.

I'm thinking seriously about this one. I don't care for the ironing board, but like the idea of something a little subtle to pick up the lines of the car at the back.
..

It's a Spoiler Depot product.

Ironing board... yes.
The oem spoiler is kinda fugly.. it just looks odd.
doesn't flow with the lines of the car.

Some cars are desparately ugly without the spoiler (ie the 98 - 02 accord coupes)
but the g looks better without it until I see a aftermarket thats cleaner. IMHO anyway.

The one above isn't bad.. but not quite what im looking for.

Definitely a personal preference thing. The above one is the only one I've been able to tolerate, that I've seen thus far.

I may yet find something better.

I absolutely didn't want one initially, and was real upset when I found that all the 6MTs were being shipped with them (in mid '03). Then one day while I was looking at and test driving them I began to wonder if I actually liked the car's look with the spoiler better. I ended up buying a 6MT with it, and now greatly prefer the car's look (from most angles, but least of all from the rear quarter) to the non-spoiler. Like some others have said, the spoilerless car looks naked to me, and more generic. As far as my conversion from spoiler hater to spoiler lover is concerned...dunno...go figure...

Nothing complex about it. You got used to seeing your car with it, so cars that are different look, well, different.

No factory spoiler for me.

I looked several dealers to find the 6MT without one. nay to splash guards too.
