Got pulled over this morning- hahah

I was coming to work this morning at 3:55am on the FDR drive Northbound doing 85+.. I was running late for work, when all of a sudden the police lights start flashing behind me.... I pull over and the cop comes over.. Before he says anything i said.. Officer, sorry. i know i was wronhg, im super late for work etc.. etc.. He says... "Do you know the Speed limit???" I said yes and again apologized... He Says.. Its 45mph and youre doing 85+ WTF???? Then says get the Fk out of here and he gets back into his unmarked car and peels out..hahahaha. Frankly , I thought i was finished. POints/Fines/Etc... He didnt even ask me for my license or paperwork... I think he was at the end of his shift (4am) and just wanted to go home and didnt want to deal with the paperwork.. I have to say i was EXTREMELY LUCKY... 85 in a 45 would usually put you in hot water here in NYC..

You were going 85 in a 45? Holy $hit. You coulda financed a small house with the cost of that ticket.

I dunno about a small house...But it would have been pretty bad...I was doing 55 in a 35 and it was over $250 out here in SoCal...

Surprinsingly, i wasnt shaken up because i knew i was wrong and that i was Fk'd so i just accepted my fate... Luckily, they guy had mercy on me... which is unusual because most cops around here are pri**s.

Traffic school man...We can take it once every 18 months (if the judge permits, that is) to avoid getting a point on our record...how is it in NY?

lucky butt... i have gotten 4 tickets... only got 1 warning, at 2 30 am... i think cops dont give a fck at early morning times bc no one is out, so no one is in that much danger, except yourself... idk

Wow, that could have been very expensive.

I think it was your humble attitude toward the Man that saved you. Kudos to both you and the cop.

May be an idea to slow down some????

C.

Unmarked police vehicles are usually detectives or brass. They probably don't even know what paperwork to fill out for a traffic citation. I got stopped once for speeding and wreckless driving (yes, I was a kid once) by an unmarked: he cussed me out and sent me on my way after I apologized profusely and told him that I was in a hurry because my wife was having labor pains and needs a ride to the hospital (this was true). Drive safe peeps.
