06 will not be available until Sep/Oct at the earliest. Other threads have also suggested MT's may arrive later than the AT's. Check with your local dealer to see what they can do for you.

Don't know if he was referring to the '06's but rather to a 6MT.

Try going to the infiniti site and configure the car as you want it. Then search dealer inventory around you. You can call around from there.

Also, Grubbs in Texas is pretty big they might have it too. Try giving them a call.

Most dealers I've gone to have had about 1 or 2 sitting on the lot.

Good luck. I couldn't find (in Texas) a single '05 6MT without Premium Pkg. a couple of months ago. Grubbs wanted a $1500 deposit to order a G coupe without the Premium Pkg., in case I backed out because he didn't think they could sell it.

Austin Infiniti ordered it with just a $500 deposit. They also beat Grubbs' discount off MSRP for an ordered vehicle, so they got the sale.

If you're flexible with your color options, you could probably still find one somewhere within the US.

Yes I am referring to 05's.
Let me know if you guys know any specific dealers or places where they have base models in the lot. I am going ahead to get this car.

I had to order mine (I'm in NJ) as all the local dealers spec them with the Prem Pkg. I put down a $500 deposit... and ended up negotiating to $650 over invoice, which I was happy with, though I have heard of some folks beating that deal by a little.

Is there such thing as a Base model 6MT? I thought all base models were 5AT and the top of the line model was 6MT? Am I missing something, because I would love to get a 6 speed without leather, bose, aeropackage, nav, OEM 19 inch rims, sunroof and all those nice-ities. I'd end up swapping all those things out for aftermarket anyways.

While the 6MT comes well-equiped, with leather, you can pass on the Premium Package (sunroof, Bose, etc.), Aero Package and Navigation Package.

This 6MT without options, or even mine with only splash guards and a trunk mat, could be considered the "base" 6MT model. It definately lowers the price (and hopefully a bit of weight ), but it's difficult finding them on the market. Almost all of the dealers order their G35 Coupes with at least the Premium Package.

If you're looking for an '05, be flexible on color or resign yourself to the fact that you'll have to order. If you thinking of waiting for an '06, you should probably get your order in early for an option-free 6MT. I imagine most of the first batch will be ordered with at least the Prem. Pkg.
