How fast is the Z Vs G?

'05 Z Vs '05 G? Is the G any closer becuase in MT Mag it shows the G Sedan running a 14.1 at the 1/4mile. So i would assume the coupe could do a 13.9? The best i've seen a Z run is a 14.0 at my local track. Reason i ask is because my 2 best friends are getting '05 Zs and well by the end of this year i'll be getting a '06 G.

I read a while back the G is faster, all the while the Z is quicker. something to do with aerodynamics.

at the track with some good driving... the Z can easily take the G... I guess that weight issue really does play a big part...

The fastest Z at the track down here on the islands... was a 13.7 and the fastest G I've seen was a 14.2...

I know a 350z does 0-60 in 5.4

and a g35 does 0-60 in 5.7

so I guess the Z is faster.

Has anyone driven both? I'm curious how similar they drive (performance aside). If you own a G, is it reasonable to expect a Z to "feel" about the same? (Handling, cornering etc). I suppose I could just go test drive a Z and find out for myself, but I'm lazy...

my best friend got a 05 z a couple of months ago and a week later i got my 05 G35. Ive driven his car and it does seem a little faster. i think there is a little lag in throttle response in the G. In the end, it will be a driver's race since the cars are so similar anyways.

Same engine, better driveshaft in the Z, lighter weight in the Z, same tranny, same gear ratio...... The Z should be faster than the G.

Of course the Z is faster. Given equal drivers Z should win 100% of the time.

I have owned both, currently own the G35 and the Z definetly feels faster. There is a noticeable difference in the weight which I think is the primary difference for the Z being faster. All in all Z had tons of problems so I would take a G that is .3 slower anyday.

Yeah, but how many times do you go 0-60 on a track, If you think a Z could easily beat a G, you need to watch the clip of the gentleman who raced a G35 on a track with his vette, Untill he was out in the straight aways, he couldn't take them.

Just because the 0-60 numbers may be stronger (check those numbers again and post links, im tired of everyone having different numbers and i dont care where you say you got them) doesn't mean that it will be a G on a track.

Plus you have drivers, and you have break-in's

Comparing two cars that are sooo close to each other really is case driven. There is somone here who raced his boss's FX-45 and couldn't beat him, I was actually thinking about that at work, they are close vehicals, not nearly as close as the Z and G, but if you think the G had a bad breakin, isn't pulling the HP, and the FX had a great breakin and maybe pulling a little extra than the straight numbers, its very pluasable.

Unless you state your source, or put some logic behind your statement. Just read, dont post.
