CAI and Z-tube

AEM and NISMO CAI's have the bypass valve which will help you eliminate any type of hydrolocking (injesting water through the intake), is this true?

And also if I were to get an AEM CAI, would the z-tube be nessesary? Or does the CAI come with a tube that replaces the z-tube?

Thanks again in advance for everyone's help.

I know for sure the Nismo has the bypass, not sure but I think the AEM does as well.

Z-tube is not needed, as the CAI goes right to the throttle body.

AEM will have the bypass valve. From my knowledge, AEM was the first to design and come up with the bypass valve. I didnt even know there was any other company that even had a bypass valve.

I'm pretty sure that the AEM does not come with a bypass valve.....you have to buy it as an option.

We just installed an AEM on my buddies car last week....and I'm glad I got the Injen.

Just an FYI.....

The AEM intake and the Nismo intake are identical. AEM makes the Nismo instake for Nismo.

Also, the AEM has the bypass valve as an option. It doesn't come with it, but it can be added on.

I have the AEM and love it.

Are you only getting the CAI for looks and sound? Because it's only going to hurt your performance.

+1 but I think that it has been heavily debated throughout here and only short ram configurations are proven to lose power. Nismo, AEM, and K&N are all the full length tubes. Not sure about Injen.
