So the other day I took my friend to see the G35 coupe at the local dealership.. and he liked what he saw.. but at the end he said "it's a shame it's not fast/strong"
I was like.. :O I didn't know what to say lol.
What could I tell him .. or show him to get him convinced?!

Nothing. If he drives it and that's his opinion, then that's his opinion.
It's like the guys who don't like looks of the sedan. That's their opinion - I'm not going to try to change it. I bought the car because I liked it, not for anyone else's approval.

Good. The less Gs out there, the better if you ask me. One of the top reasons I bought mine was because I hardly see any around here. I hate driving the same car that everyone else on the road drives
Just curious what kind of car is he coming out of that makes the G seem weak to him? If he's driving a Z06 or turbo 911 then I can understand his comment but if it's a stock Honda Accord...
He might be happier in a Neon SRT-4?

if he wants a 'fast/strong' car, tell him to wait for the Corvette Z06 to come out

Like the rest of the guys said, it's all perception. I came from a MR2 to a 240SX with a sr20det w/ ball bearing GT3037, and finally to a 93.5 BPU Supra twin turbo. All the cars were probably faster as the list went on and the Supra was certainly ridiciously fast. The g35c is just a nice car. If I wanted to stay with a fast car I would have got a EVO or just kept the Supra....but hey, it's time to grow up. At least for me it was. The next sports car will be the GTR or something along those lines. 911 turbo when I'm old. I think the Supra TT was as much as a "tuner" car I was willing to go. Anything else now becomes a shame from all the kids who rice their cars...
If your friend wants a fast car, I'd def. look into the EVO/STi. Both are very fast ...esp from a stand still. They just look like boy toys imo and the interiors are not fit for a car that costs 30k.

The G also feels slower than my modded WRX was. I think it is a LITTLE slower, but some of the difference is the long torque curve. The upgraded turbocharger on my WRX gave a kick that I really miss sometimes.

If he doesn't like it, he doesn't like it. He can find himself something else.
Your friend may have a point. Any car that'd have a hard time holding off a stock Avalon in a straight line is not what I would call particularly fast or strong.
I associate the words "fast" and "strong" with standard production cars that run the quarter in the 13-second range or better. Fifteen years ago, "fast" and "strong" meant anything under 15 seconds.
Times change. We're in the middle of a second Golden Age of Horsepower. The "fast" and "strong" bar keeps getting raised.
