Thought OB stood for Obsidian Black

I was under the impression that OB stood for Obsidian Black but it turns out that it really stands for OBSESSED!! I can't stop cleaning her for crying out loud and I really dont mind. Bird Sh*t doesn't stand a chance I always catch it and have it off in a matter of minutes. God she looks beautiful right now. Too bad I'm gonna have to clean her off again tomorrow. is it possible to wash off your paint?? Seriously though for the amount of cleaning I do on that car there are NO swirl marks. Gotta love those microfiber towels! It's a G thing!@

I havent used any wax yet since she doesnt need it but I use the MeGuires quick wax after a wash and I think It works great. I'm afraid to get any swirl marks so waxing hasn't crossed my mind yet but sooner or later i'm gonna have to. Dont knwo what I'll use but there will have to be some extensive research involved.

I know your pain...I think (or at least, my fiance accuses me of) washing the car every other day. But, EVERYTHING shows on the black...

I just spent seven days offshore, got home and almost had a coronary...of course, it was "nookie or wash the car" and I didn't wanna agitate the significant other...but I washed the Coupe soon after...

Mine sleeps under a carport...but I still feel an Infiniti cover coming on.

Re: Thought OB stood for Obsidian Black

We got another black one here. I wash it every week. Cali dust it everyday, and use Infiniti car cover. Use Zaino religiously...i think i'm on 9th coat of Z5/Z2 combo (yeah...I already have swirl marks). I personally don't mind washing it. I feel it's very rewarding after I dry up the car, step back, and admire my reflection in the paint....thus my screen name.

This may be my last black car as well. On the plus side, I mostly only get to drive at night, and she looks knifeblade slick under streetlamps, even when not completely clean. It's direct sunlight that my G hates, except the morning after a twilight wash. If my G was a woman, she'd definitely be a goth chick, not a beach babe.

Sucks about the swirl marks BM. Doesn't the Zaino take them out?

Re: Thought OB stood for Obsidian Black

Well, the Z5 is specialized to do that. But I don't see it being that affective with the swirl marks. Maybe I need more coats. Also, for other OB owners, do you guys notice excessive dust build-up on the rear bumper after a day's worth of driving? I noticed that's the part of the car that attracts dust the most.

Re: rear of the car, I strongly suspect the exhaust itself makes the car dirtier. Or at least it's allowing dirt to more easily adhere to the back. I wonder if longer tips would make a difference.

Re: Thought OB stood for Obsidian Black

nope ... its just dust circling up from the tailspin type of action..

I get it too ... I have a little duster

I havent waxed yet .. cause I dont need to yet IMO
I dont have swirls and well I wash it often

I use Zainos finishing spray Z6 after some washes .. that stuff is awesome and smells great.

I will always own a black car !!!

I notice even after a full out rain and highway drive, which seems to make it the dirtiest, doesnt really make it that dirty ..sure, its DIRTY but not where it still doesnt look fairly clean and shiny.

Maybe its the Z6 but she stills shines with road dust dirt and spray all over er and I love it.....

dirty or not ...WICKED

laterrr
