doesn't anyone have any connections at Korea, Taiwan, or the Middle East to see if we can do a group buy on it or something?? Assuming the parts are perfect fit and the electrical is the same?

Pete,

I don't think anyone said that our stock headlights were inadequate. They definitely do the job but when compared to other HID/Halogen reflector designs they fall short. Also, you keep mentioning "sealed beam headlights" that technology is extremely old. It is only currently used in low end work trucks or fleet vehicles. Most automotive manufacturers stop using them in the 1980s. I think you mean "Projector based headlamps".

Sealed beamed technology may be old, but do yourself a favor before you start your project. Please note that the term "sealed beam" is still being used to differentiate between the two HID types. When choosing a HID bulb replacement, know that D2S is for "sealed beam" HIDs and D2R is for reflector type HIDS. You can use the term projector all day, but when it comes down to correctly describing the bulb, use "sealed beam."

I agree. Another thing that gets to me is how most Nissan have the "gated shift" seen mostly in higher brand such as Lexus, Acura and Mercedes to only name a few, and yet Infiniti gets the push button ones. Obviously I'm talking about the AT here. Why would I care you may ask, because changing the **** for an aftermarket one is made more difficult.

You were using "sealed beam" to define a type of headlight not a bulb. Projector based headlights are never referred to as "sealed beam headlights".
Please take a look at this link :

Definition of a Sealed Beam Headlight

I am already aware of the differences of D2R and D2S bulbs. The only thing that separates the two is glare coating on the D2R bulb and a slightly different base. I am going to remove the glare coating off of our stock D2R bulb and add a notch to the base. This will essentially make it into a D2S bulb.

Does this forum have any drivers from Korea or the Middle East? Maybe they can give us a confirmation as to if they are an exact fit and what not? Or if anyone in here work at a dealership that can get a hold of "replacement" lights from the JDM market?
