Just another voice-of-reason reply, foobs. I racked up $6K on credit with my '97 Mitsu. GSX. I had enough equity in the car, and got enough when I sold it, to pay off that credit... ...but it still took a huge chunk out of my cash.

Future mods: Saving your money for a mod so often gives you the time to really see if it's worth doing... ...and it sometimes allows other, better products to hit the market as well. The only down side is having to wait.

But think about your ultimate goal. Are you likely to go FI or are you staying NA? If it's ultimately the higher power of FI, then save your money for that and stop spending on anything else. Sell the Nismo headers, as they'll be wasted money once you go FI.

If your goal is staying NA (even at the expense of overall top HP/TQ production *gasp* lol), then you could keep getting parts that will fit into your final plan all along the way... ...or at least as money is available.

Due to climate, I plan to stay NA, so the parts that I have (in my sig) will still be parts that I would want to get at some point in the build. They may not provide a lot of bang for the buck now (or later), but they'll be appreciated by the time the final goal is reached. At this point, in terms of power production, I'm probably going to stop while I save up for the Nismo cams, valve springs, retainers and ECU upgrade. Also considering upgrading the radiator to a 4.5 qt. system.

As far as modding being worth the money, that's an extremely personal opinion. Most of us here will say that it is, yet few of us will have more than a couple of people in our lives that completely agree with our rationale... ...a lot of us have loved ones who simply tollerate it and accept us for who we are.

I think the majority of people here will not understand or agree with my opinion that staying NA is the best choice for me... ...but, for me and this climate, it most likely is. Figure out what it is that you want... ...and if needed, outline your build and then set a timeline for buying parts that fits within your build budget. Just get all of your parts, shipping and labor costs in order to determine an accurate cost of your build.
