Suggestions please for future owner of G35

Hey what's up? This is my first time in any type of forum, but I hope to be a good contribution. Anyways, I plan on getting my G35 in December...hopefully...if they have what I want. I am having a hard time deciding on a few things, but I do know it will be 05 or 06 DG coupe w/ stone leather. Auto w/ Manumode or 6MT (keep in mind traffic can suck each day coming home from work)? Can someone who's driven both tell me if there is much of a difference between 280 and 298 hp? Whole aero bodykit w/ spoiler or just spoiler? Also, I would love to have sunroof and Nav, but not sure I need the whole Prem. Pack. If I get the Auto, should I get the Sport Susp. Pkg or save the $1600 to get nicer wheels and tires? Sorry- I know I sound a little indecisive, but thanks for any suggestions. Guess it's a good thing I'm waiting so long.

well since i'm a 6mt believer, i say go w/ a 6mt. my dad has a 5at and its cool to drive it in manual mode but it kinda takes all the fun out of it, and since i never drive AT's every once in a while i step on the brake w/ my left foot trying to go for the clutch . as far as sunroof and prem package i couldnt live w/out it. dont get NAV though for that money you can get an eclipse AVN or any other AVN.

No. I am extremely surprised that I haven't gotten "tired" of the 6MT in traffic even once so far. I think it's actually a lot of fun in stop and go. You know the saying, if you say that a manual sucks in traffic even once, then it's not for you. Have you driven a stick before? If you haven't borrow one or get a rental and drive around town for a day to get an idea of what it feels like.

As far as which packages are worth it, keep in mind that a 6MT with standard 19" runs exactly a grand cheaper than a similarly equipped 5AT (i.e. one with 19" wheels). So that saves you a grand right there if you go with the manual. Get the Navi if you travel a lot, otherwise you decide if you'll have any use for it other than that it looks cool. I love the premium package and I don't see a point in buying an entry level luxury car that doesn't have dual zone A/C, auto headlights and a sunroof, heck even the homelink.

The aero body kit is nice, but you can get the aero package only and install the front lip later on if you really want it.

What about the lifetime of a manual vs. automatic? Wouldn't an auto last longer than manual, for instance clutch wear? Don't get me wrong. I love the experience of manual transmission.

It all depends what you are used to.. I am USED to MTs but I bought the G in an AT. Partially because I allready have two other manual cars, which is already impractical enough for me, but I also felt the G was a much better ride with the smoother 5AT transmission. There are times when I was wishing I had a clutch under my foot, but then again there are times in my two other cars where I wish I had an automatic much more. Late nights when I'm tired, traffic, when im just chilling back talking to friends, and expecially in the city! Dont think I will ever bring a manual into the city again.

Overall, VERY happy with the 5AT. Wouldn't change it for the world.
