Clutch maintenance ... 6MT owners!

1. Has anyone have had their clutch replaced?
2. How much does it cost? (Since some say that warranty does not cover it)
3. How often does the clutch needs to be replaced?
4. Whats the avg. maintenance cost over this car annually?

Thanks

it's whatever clutch assembly you buy plus your preferred shops labor.

No maintenance required just judicious use. Put in neutral at stop lights, few drop clutch acceleration, no riding the clutch....should last a long time. I have NEVER replaced a clutch in any of the manuals I have owned, never. They have all either been 3-4 year leases or 3-4 year owndership. Max miles 50,000 without replacing.

Depends

If you know how to drive manual transmission and you care about the car it should last you long time. I had my first car from 70 to 133k miles and never replaced the clutch, and my brand new maxima had 56k miles when I traded it in and the clutch was still original. So take care of it, listen to the pointers from others and it should last.

I drive like an ***. I would have Paid $1600!!!! from the dealer to have the clutch replaced. Instead I bought the Jim Wolf clutch which cost 800 shipped and then paid 500 to have it installed. better clutch at a cheaper price. Sad part is I only had 35k miles on my car at the time lol!

That's what I'm most interested in hearing... ...what aftermarket clutches have been used and the reviews of each.

With so many complaints about the OEM clutch, I'm sure I'll eventually want to replace it (or have to replace it). It would be great to have a little more G-specific reviews to know which improves overall feel and operation over the OEM assembly.

I too do not have any plans on replacing the clutch before I sell the car.
Im expecting to put about 30k-35k miles before I sell it... Ive been driving
manuals for a while and never had to replace it either. You can drive your
car aggressively without putting much strain on the clutch unless you have
a lot of engine mods and putting more than 25% hp increase on the original
clutch. From my experience, trannys can handle up to about 25% increase
in power if driven carefully...even WRX's pos 5speed.
