New to the forum and new to the G35!

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to stop in and say hi. I tried to post this earlier but it didn't seem to take so hopefully it won't duplicate. I just bought an 05 Coupe 5at Diamond Graphite and I love this car! Its capabilities are exactly what I was looking for and then some.

Any rate, I have a question for you all, coming from a muscle car loving family I have a deep rooted love for burnouts. Has anyone done this in the auto? (on purpose or other wise) I'm just curious what it would do. I know that the VDC would have to be turned off and all but I can't help but be curious. Speaking of VDC, I love it! Tried it out a bit on my way home last night as it was raining like hell and it did great, I was pleasantly surprised having never had a car that had it before. Did much better than my Maxima, although it has been a great car, it has its limits.

Well thats it for now. I look forward to your responses and spending more time on this site getting as much knowledge as I can.

Thanks all!

Hey bro, congrats on your new ride. I'm sure you'll love it.

As for burnouts, I believe you can do it pretty easily with the VDC off. From a light you can "brake torque" i think its called by keeping your RPM's at around 2K or so and having your other foot on the brake and launch that way.

Nice color choice btw. Have fun

Thanks! We always used to call that 'power braking' but I know what you're talking about.

BTW - Thanks for the post, it let me see your sig. I'm in MoCo right by 270/495. Took a look at the National G Club site, sweet! Right in my area, I love it.

Welcome CoolRider, and congrats on the new Coupe. Yes burnouts are easy with the VDC off if that's your fancy.
We had a vid of someone doing just that for about a minute, not sure where it went when our site changed formats.

Hi Guys, I am also new for whatever reason the forum isn't allowing me to start a new thread so I figured I would ask my question here because I need to make up my mind within 12 hours or so

I was a week away from buying an Automatic G35 Coupe fully loaded for $36,500. Today at work came the perfect gift I think what do you guys think about this. 2004 G35 Coupe with sunroof & premium package graphite with 12,800 miles for $26,500. Should i go for it, i literally have till tomorrow morning to make up my mind. Right now im at like 85% sure of taking it.

-thanks in advance

Hey bro if you are in the area definitely sign up! We have get togeters all the time (last night we just went all out to dinner) - Definitely check the National G Club forum on this site under the Groups and Clubs section - the forum is very active. As well as register on the web site to be in the loop as far as events go.

Any questions you may have, I'm sure we can answer them for you. BTW, you purchase from Jim Coleman? Passport?

Got it from Coleman. My wife and I went out to dinner on Monday night and as we left she turned the opposite way of home. I asked her where we were going and she says 'I have to get something at Mont. Mall', I didn't think anything of it until she pulled in to Coleman and I'm like 'what are we doing here?' she says 'We're gonna buy you a new car!'. And that was it! Rolled out in my new ride!!! My wife rocks!!! I've had a good month, bought an 05 CBR 600 F4i a few weeks ago! Been saving for both for a while and planned on buying in the next year or 2, but the wait is over! Most of my friends hate me now and want to know if my wife has any sisters lol.

I'm def. gonna sign up on the site, love to meet up with some of you guys. Trust me, I'll take care of my new ride, I have a passion for cars, always have. Most people think my 98 Max is only 2 years old because I keep it in great condition (plus they don't know body styles).

Pics to come, hopefully this weekend. Gotta wash her up and the weekend is supposed to be nice.

Meth, I can't speak on the ride (I'm guessing by this point you have already had to make the choice) but I had a problem posting a new topic yesterday too. I was using Firefox so I thought I'd try Internet Explorer instead and it seemed to work. Not sure about your problem but thought I'd share that.

Wow what a great wife. You're right thats a definite keeper. I also got mine at Jim Coleman and go there for my service - they seem to be okay in that department so far. Have alreayd had my car for a year! I'll see you around and post up in the G Forum if you have any questions or need any "local" answers.
