Just picked it up! why does it feel slow?
I picked up my 05 6mt coupe yesterday! I love the car, but my gripe is that it feels considerably slower than the 04s I test drove before ordering my 05. Is this just a consequence of the car not having been broken in yet? I've got about 200 miles on the car. I picked it up with 13 on it.

That's funny. I just started a thread about how quick my car feels now as opposed to 1000 miles ago (Im at 3500 now). My 05 6 speed gave me a niiice 2nd gear wheel spin today.. no not a chirp.. spin. I hit 1st at 7000 and must've nailed the shift/ torque point. The car is quicker than it was 1000 miles ago, and I broke it in by the book at 1200 miles. 10 lbs less torque shmorque. I'm very happy .

You have to learn how to launch the car properly with VDC turned OFF (a must for any power out of the hole). If you're not aggressively launching the car from a stop in first, you really won't know what the low end of the 05 is like.
There's plenty of torque there, you just have to learn how to use it.
And as for the comments on the differences between the 05 and 04, there are posts on here with dyno graphs comparing the stock forms of both years that show LESS low-end torque in the 2004, with the 04 beating the 05 at peak torque of 4800. Not too many people can launch this car effectively at 4800, which means at launch the 05 will more than likely have more torque than the 04.

Once it's broken in and driven more spiritedly, it will respond.
Congrats on the new ride. Enjoy.
