Is there any way to override the Navi settings?

It's really annoying that you can't map a location while you're driving. Does anyone know of any way to override that setting? I understand the reason for the "safety" feature, but often times I'll have a passenger set a destination 'on the fly'. Thanks for any insight!

i heard something about the fx navi can be re programmd to get rid of that blocking feature... does the fx and g navi have diff bios!?
