The dyno numbers are a mess. They have no consistency and the torque numbers are everywhere. Also, your numbers are too optimistic due to 2nd and 3rd gear runs. I say go to a better shop and get a real dyno before you put on your TT.

Homie... dynos on the autos are not as easy to read because of the torque converter. You cannot just pick off the peak numbers. you need to post the dyno charts so that I (we) can tell where the torque peak actually is. I would almost bet it's in the 213-18 range.

Also, the SLIP and ABS lights are on - is this normal? VDC was turned off before I started.
The SLIP and ABS lights are normal. However, they should turn off after a very little bit of driving after the dyno.

Also, whem you dyno, find out if it is SAE corrected or uncorrected numbers. It can make a big difference. As an example, last time I dyno'd before my headers, my uncorrected was 234, corrected was 227.

Also, if they send you the electronic file, you can download the winpep program from Dynojet that will allow you to look in further detail at your numbers.

ok... that is a pretty bad picture... but i think i can make out the light green and pink torque traces...they seem to be in the 217-219 range... pretty much what i predicted.

Also, the guy who did the dyno doesn't know which way is up... can't belive how plain stupid some of these dyno operators are. Your 04.5 car WILL hold gear in manual mode... So... Here is what you need to do next time:

1) Pull either the brake light (fuse box down by your left foot), or the VDC fuse (fuse box in the engine compartment right next to the battery). That will disable VDC and ABS. DOn't forget to reconnect these afterwards.

2) Run your car up to about 32 mph or so (if i remember right), just as soon as the manual mode allows you to shift into 4th gear, when it does, let the car decelerate to about 1500-2000 rpm, keeping your eye on the gear indicator to make sure it didnt downshift from 4th. Right around 1500-2000 rpm (as low as possible while still in 4th gear), start the dyno and floor the gas pedal... and hold on to your socks

That ought to give you a REAL nice full sweep torque (and hence HP) curve.

Everything Gurgen said is DEAD ON! The torque converter slips and gives a ficticous reading on automatics. No biggie, just follow his directions above and you'll be set. Also, you CAN dyno in 4th. I've held 2 dyno days now and we've ALWAYS dynoed the automatics in 3rd or 4th. The only reason why they didn't like to dyno in 4th was due to the excessively high speeds the car was at near redline.

BTW, I have a 6MT and I dyno in 5th.
