Review of Spoiler Depot Purchase...

Hello all,

I purchased the 1-piece lip rear spoiler from Spoiler Depot recently, and thought I should share my experience. I debated whether or not to do this, but in the end I think people should know what they're getting into before spending their hard-earned cash.

Hopefully many have had good experiences with them, and mine was just a fluke. Unfortunately, it's a fluke that will prevent me from doing business with them again. I sent in a money order to them in the end of May. Their website claims a 3-5 day turnaround including painting, so after 2 weeks with no response I called. They claimed that they had my order, and that it would ship within a couple of days. After another 10 days, I called again. This time I was told that they had decided that they had to make G35 spoilers out of fiberglass instead of urethane, that they had to get the mold for that, and that it would ship out within a couple of days.

To make a long story short, I wound up contacting them 4 times before finally receiving my spoiler, 6 weeks after I had mailed in my order. At no time did they ever attempt to contact me to let me know what was going on, though their website clearly states turnaround times. Also, their support people were terse and unfriendly when I would call. No attempt was made to try to salvage future business from me. (Expedited shipping, discount, written apology with the spoiler...anything would have been nice..)

I will say that the spoiler itself is very nice. The paint matches nicely, it's symetrical and shapely, and mounted without issue. I'm very pleased with the looks of it.

Sorry to whine, but thought that people should know of my experience.
Thanks..

I'll see if I can snap a pic over the weekend. It's a very understated unit, sort of like some European lip spoilers that I've seen. Exactly what I was looking for.

I have the same spoiler, I bought during a group buy many months ago. Not many of us that bought the spoiler in this group buy experienced the problems you did. But that is crazy it took so long, and that they were such a-holes about it. I've bought 3 spoilers from them in total and each one arrived in a timely matter, with about a 9 out of 10 color match. That sucks it took so long, but hopefully you're satisfied with it. I love mine. They should have compensated for their mistakes.

My spoiler wouldn't stay down on my trunk- I went through three different spoilers. Finally I asked for my money back and bought a bolt down factory replica from another vendor.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience. Usually S/D is very punctual and reliable.
At least the spoiler is looking good. enjoy.
