Sqeeky Drivers Seat

Is anyone having a problem with sqeeks coming from the drivers seat. Happens mostly on excelleration and braking when weight is shifting in the seat. I'm only 185 lbs. and I wouldn't think that would be enough to cause such a problem.

I assume you are talking about the "seat rocking" problem. It's common (mine has it). There is a dealer fix, though some dealers won't repair it under warranty unless they can reproduce it. I'm going to have it looked at during my next service.

I have the same thing too. I didn't think the rocking thing was the same as the noise I hear, but i guess it is the same. It is damn irritating.

Re: Sqeeky Drivers Seat

I noticed this for the first time the other night at the 2800 mile mark. I need to toss the car around pretty good to get it squeaking though, and would never have heard it if the stereo was on. Lately I've been trying to take turns much harder though, and that may have pulled something loose. I think I'm going to have to wait until it's re-producable under normal driving before bringing it in.

Anyone know what the fix involves? Maybe there's a homemade solution that can be done on the cheap. Not like I care much about how the underside of my seat looks.

I hear they have to replace the rails. I can't hear any squeaks..mine just feels like it moves on the rails sometimes during braking or acceleration. Almost like it's not quite "locked in". Funny thing is I can drive all day and it might not do it.. then next day do it 5 times in a row...

Re: Sqeeky Drivers Seat

Hey Fella's,
Thanks for the input. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one with the problem.
Well I just found out from my service manager that there is a fix coming for the sqeeky front seat problem. It normally shows up between 2500 & 3000 miles and seems to get worse and happens more frequently after that. Mine started out very weak and barely noticeable, now it is so annoying I can barely stand it, with or without radio on. Taking it in for first service (oil change etc.) Service manager said he's aware of the problem and will fix. Also getting the "call Back" items addressed as well as the sqeaky brake pads changed to new style.
Thanks Again.
