Re: Its Official Borla True Dual Exhaust!
The new news is that the dynoes haven't backed up the hype. Most Z owners are getting around 10 hp to the wheels rather than the claimed 20hp, and a few have had 7 or less. There's a theory going around that the ECU is negating the gains because the people who've had the exhaust on longer are getting lower results than the people who dynoed immediately (before the chip adjusted). That's just a theory though.
On the other hand, 20hp would have been a huge number for an exhaust on a naturally aspirated automobile. 10hp is supposed to be a fairly average gain for this type of mod on this type of car. The good news is that the sound has been universally praised by everyone who's installed it, and the installation is so easy that more people are doing it themselves. And it is indeed the advertised amount lighter than stock, which helps, and still the least expensive true dual exhaust out there for the Z/G if I'm not mistaken.
So basically, the only thing that didn't come through on this holy grail of mods is the dyno. Which is the most important one. But I think I'll probably still get one because, even though it's only average in performance gain, it's exceptional in all other respects. And it's not like there's any alternatives bringing in 20hp yet. Great sound plus *some* performance gain plus cheap price works for me.

Yea I agree with you Jdman and the sound is what im looking for and the price is great. For the perfomance hopefully there will be a chip that will solve that problem but guess well have to wait and see.
