If you're going to wait for the '06 coupe, why not go all out and wait for the GT-R

A glimpse of the 2008 skyline will be given a teaser concept this october at Tokyo's show as a follow up to the GTR that wowed crowd;s in 2001's tokyo salon. Officially nissan will will unvail the skyline gt-r in 2007 with it going on sale a few days later in japan. SOurces report the 08 will be unique all-wheel drive and powered by a TT version of the 350z's 3.5 v6 possibly bored out to 4.0l. Grapevine says 450hp allied to nissans next-gen, variable torque-split ATTESA E-TS all wheel drive system. Skyline will reportedly sell for 70k. Might be expensive but its tens of thousands of dollars less than the next porsche 911 turbo which it will compete.

according to autoweek and R&T, the engine is supposed to be a VQ32DETT. Destroked version of our VQ35. Its the same engine thats powering the GT500 350Z race car. Nissan has a history taking the GT-R engine straight from their race cars, that started with the very first GT-R in the 70s. I dont think its going to beat out the Z06 for best bang 4 the bucks though.

My article write up came from Automobile AUGUST 2005. Oh well every year you can say wait for the next best thing. This gtr will not be the basic g35. Might look similar with a kickass engine. This car will make me feel cheap. I feel when the same car is offered with a bigger engine your cheap if you don't go all out and get the best of the best.......
